This topic is for you to say ONE unusal thing in Generals in compare with Real life. Just one in one post.

Let's start: In real life, if a Tank shoots at an infantry, that infantry will split into parts. But in Generals, even 5 tanks can't take out a single infantry easily. LOL biggrin.gif
Maelstrom
In Generals, you can buy an artillery cannon which fires tactical nukes for only 1600$
In Real Life, those does not even exist ^^

Actually, you can find 1950s US test videos of 280mm artillery cannons firing nuclear projectiles on YouTube. happy.gif

Has been the case in ALL C&C games that ever existed, not Generals specifically
No-Hope
My opinion is..

C&C realised that it was important for balancing the game. Think about it.
Otherwise infantry would not be interesting to train, and to be honest, most of the times they aren't interesting at all.
Second, it would be too hard to control your base, and your troops if it would be too real-life-looking.

General No-Hope
Kalga
In real life, trains are... well rather normal.

In C&C Generals, They are the true gods of the battlefield!
Shiro
Artillery that supposedly has a range of 1000s of km can barely reach the next pub.
Karpet
In Generals, radiation clears up in a matter of seconds, as does anthrax.

You won't be so fortunate in real life.
L3610N 115
In Generals, the Ambulance can spray some wonder sauce that cleans radiation and anthrax.

In Real Life we're still working on such a kind of wonder sauce.
Overlord_Cane
In Generals, flashbangs are mass-murdering devices of pain and suffering that only injure human footsoldiers.

In Real-Life, they temporarily blind you and might damage your eardrums and/or eyes.
Serialkillerwhale
In generals, the US army consists of Humvees firing 6 rocket launchers at once.

In Real life, the US army consists of wimps who couldn't get into the marines.

ZING!

In C&C Generals, a commander can send dozens of soldiers to their death and the only thing they have to worry about is replacing those troops.

In real life, such a commander would likely be reprimanded, if not stripped of their duty.
Skitt
gattling weapon. shoots an infantry in game at close range ...infanty keeps walking survives a few seconds runs away gets healed and comes back...
in real...
Pretty self explanitry
Lizvne
In Generals every mission is planned like "Let's move our construction dozer alone, it will build the rest on site". In real life this strategy will fail 100% of time.
FabulousPug
In the game you can sell off any structure (to some mysterious buyer?) in a matter of seconds. Imagine having a huge SELL button on a building and after someone presses it the building would be sold in the same manner like in the game - disappearing in the ground while the seller gets 50% its value haha

Kommandant Karisse
In real life, mobs of rioters don't reproduce by mitosis, nor can they shred tanks with AK-47s.
Battle Bee
In real life, most of the generals in the game would have been fired after, like, 5 days in office. I8.gif
GDIZOCOM
In C&C Generals scaffolding and construction materials are instantly teleported to the construction site, with no strings or additional costs attached, regardless of who you are.

Imagine how far we would be into space if that happened mindfuck.gif
mcompany
In generals, a giant nuclear missile can only blow up a few blocks...
Junkie_360
In Generals, all tanks are manned by a single person who can be sniped by a single sniper round (Jarmen Kell) or be taken out by a guy who knocks on the door (Hijacker).
In RL, you have at least three men inside (driver, gunner/reloader and commander).
LoneRebel
In Generals, jet fighters and fighter-bombers take off from a short runway that's only a few times longer than the planes themselves.

You have to appreciate that infantry use cover very well in real life. If you had 5 tanks and you went hunting for 1 infantryman, you most probably would not get him because he'd be too hard to find and he could snipe you with AT rockets if he had them. That's why in WW2, tanks always had to have infantry with them to avoid getting owned by enemy infantry. The game looks like the infantry are standing up in the open waiting to die, but the game isn't sophisticated enough to show them ducking behind trees and rocks and rubble so they are just harder to kill by tanks. This is usual for a lot of games to avoid making infantry unrealistically weak.

I think the most unrealistic thing in the game is the unlimited ammo especially for those much-hated Scourge trucks and rocket buggies. Where do all those rockets come from???
